Iceland Volcano Update

27 May 2011 - by Carolyn Parish, PR Executive

Although the eruption appears to be subsiding, airborne ash could still result in airspace restrictions. Passengers are still advised to remain in close contact with their airlines and travel agents for the most up to date news on the status of their flights and bookings, which may be subject to short notice timetable changes.

As of 0900 on Friday 27 May, flights are expected to operate as scheduled.

Iceland’s Keflavik airport is open and is expected to remain so.

At Travel Counsellors our customers are our top priority, and during the ash cloud crisis of 2010 we went to extraordinary lengths to help those stranded abroad. As our agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they were able to stay in constant contact with affected customers, providing expert travel advice and reassurance that they would find a safe route home for them as soon as possible. Many of our agents even travelled to collect customers stranded in France and further afield last year. As the number one rated travel company in the world for customer service, we take pride in going the extra mile to ensure our customers are looked after at every stage of their holiday or business trip.
