Travel Counsellors Skydive for Charity!
Travel Counsellors are flying high after facing a daunting charity sky diving challenge last week.
Travel Counsellors from around the UK travelled to RAF Weston in Bicester, Oxfordshire to make a leap of faith for the company’s chosen charity Plan UK. As one of seven Travel Counsellors who took part, Katie Chamberlain (pictured below) along with Caroline Howden, Chris Roberts, Julie Welfare, Katrina Angel, Les Poole and Maggie Bush jumped out of a plane and descended 15,000 feet at a rip-roaring speed of 120mph to help raise £3,000 for the charity.
With her feet firmly back on the ground, Katie says: “I am delighted to have faced my fears and taken part in the Travel Counsellors charity skydive for Plan UK. It really means a lot to me and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of all my sponsors. As a Travel Counsellor I’m used to getting on planes, but this is one flying experience I’ll never forget.”
Travel Counsellors works with Plan UK, an international, child-centred development organisation, in order to improve the quality of education for children in some of the world’s poorest countries, helping them to realise their full potential and build a safe, healthy environment for them and their families.
Travel Counsellors has funded a project to repair and extend a primary school in the Ndere Village, Kenya and donated £200,000 to Plan’s educational programme that aims to link thousands of school children around the world.
